Storia Pomegranate (Reconstituted) Juice Ingredients - Apple Concentrate 12%, Pomegranate Juice Concentrate 4%

Data and pictures from Open Food Facts show that back in 2024, the front label proudly declared Storia 100% Pomegranate Juice, promising a bottle full of pure pomegranate goodness with no added sugar and no preservatives.

Fast-forward a little, and the packaging got a quiet update. The bold “100%” on the front quietly stepped aside, and the product now simply reads Storia Pomegranate Juice.

Same vibrant bottle, same confident vibe… but the front is suddenly a little more… modest.

You flip it around to the ingredients list, and that’s where the plot thickens.

In the most polite, regulatory-approved way possible:

Water, Fruit Juice [Apple Concentrate 12% & Pomegranate Juice Concentrate 4%], Salt, Acidity Regulators [INS 331(iii), INS 330], Stevia [INS 960] and Antioxidant [INS 300].

Right below is the declaration:

Equivalent to 100% Fruit Juice (Reconstituted)

and

CONTAINS ADDED NATURE IDENTICAL FLAVOURING SUBSTANCES (POMEGRANATE)

Ah, the magic of reconstitution! Turns out the juice is lovingly brought back to life by adding water to those clever concentrates, a generous 12% apple doing the heavy lifting, with just 4% actual pomegranate stepping in for the cameo. Then, just to make sure your taste buds get the full “pomegranate experience,” a dash of nature-identical pomegranate flavouring joins the party. It’s like the juice went to flavouring finishing school and came back with an accent.

So now, instead of a straight-from-the-fruit fantasy, you’re sipping a reconstituted blend that’s equivalent to 100% fruit juice, apple and pomegranate working together in perfect harmony, sweetened ever-so-gently by stevia, with a pinch of salt and some friendly acidity regulators keeping things balanced and shelf-stable.

It’s the beverage industry’s version of a glow-up: less bold claims on the front, more transparent honesty on the back. The bottle still looks premium, still tastes refreshingly fruity, and still helps you feel a little virtuous while drinking it.

Moral of the story? Always read the ingredients list, especially the tiny, cheerful lines that explain the real story. Your wallet and your expectations will thank you.

Sip responsibly, label-check enthusiastically, and keep that sense of humour handy. After all, in the world of packaged juices, “100%” sometimes just means “100% reconstituted with love (and a little apple help).”
